1. Take vitamin supplements.Suddenly changing your eating habits may put your body into starvation mode. Vitamin and mineral supplements will assure your systems that you are getting plenty of nutrients. You don’t have to over-do this, a simple multivitamin should do. If your body thinks that you are starving, you will not burn fat quickly or hardly at all.
2. Cut your calorie intake in half.Keep a brief journal for a few days and write down what you normally eat in your typical routine. Research and document the calorie content of these foods and tally up about how many calories you consume per day. Next, resolve to cut the total volume of food in half. This does not mean that you have cut your food consumption in half to burn fat quickly, just eat lower calorie foods like raw fruits and vegetables, whole grain carbs and lean meat.
3. Eat every 2.5 to 3 hours.Nothing will ramp up your metabolism better than eating often. Just make sure that each meal includes foods from each food group. Consume a lot of fiber and drink plenty of water with each of these meals. A perfect meal is a salad with field greens, raw broccoli, an oil based dressing, grilled chicken, prunes and a bottle of water. You also want to make sure that you eat breakfast every day, eat it as soon as you wake up, and make it the biggest meal of the day. You don’t necessarily have to eat 5 meals a day to burn fat quickly, just eat every 2.5 to 3 hours.
4. Shock your system with exercise.Do something you’ve never done before or that you don’t normally do. If you are used to walking on a treadmill 3 miles a day then start using the rowing machine or jump rope instead. Get out of your routine so that you use muscles in ways that your body is not used to so that it will have to play sudden catch up. Make sure that you get in at least 15 to 20 minutes of elevated heart rate per day. Incorporate weight training as much as possible so that your muscles will get bigger and stronger so that your body burns more calories even at rest.
