Indirectly, it would. Muscles need more energy, which increases your metabolism. So, if you don’t start eating more, the body will dip into the fat reserves to get that energy.

Cardio workouts get rid of the fats faster such as running and cycling. Your muscles burn calories 24/7 so yes building muscle will get rid of those extra pounds just don’t expect it to be immediate.

no first you have to burn the fat to build muscle.

thats why most people cant build a six pack.

    hi,
i’m on my wife’s account here.

it depends on what type of work out you do.
low rep with heavy weight will get you big but the fat will still be there, this is the power lifter physique, the body builder physique, is low fat, the ripped look, they get this by doing a lot of reps with not so high of weight, the more reps you do the more fat you will burn.
a good work out for burning fat is at least 5 sets of at least 10 reps, we would always increase the weight the further in the sets we got, so set 1 would be say 100 pounds set 2 would 120 pounds and so on, also doing burn out sets where you do 30 reps at once or go till your muscles give out, but you have to work up to that, if you haven’t been working out for a time these things i suggested would hurt you instead of help you, so work up to it for at least 2 weeks to a month.
    i hope this helps
