They’ve got a wealth of informative articles, expert advice (you can ask any questions you have too on the message boards), tools for tracking your calories in/out, a great support network, recipes, workout videos and som much more! I think it’s awesome.

    There’s also sparkteens.com if you’re under 18.

Looking for a method online is where you go wrong! Diets are not universal! No one knows your body better than yourself. It’s an inner fight and self struggle with discipline! You’ll have to eat a variety of GOOD* foods, drink plenty of water, have a regular fitness plan (2-3 times a week, a lot of walking/running to start), and a proper sleep schedule(preferrably 6-8hrs a night). Recall the food pyramid you learned about way back in school! Yea, that one! The full coarse meals, veggies, fruits, etc are key to balancing your system! You’ll start to tighten up and loose weight naturally and not by some enhanced chemical or miracle fat-fighting drink. You could go online and find a money-hungry program, but for most people i know who try quick weight lose programs end up gaining it right back! You have to adapt your own routine of health, exercise, rest which works for you. Do take advice from other programs, but if you want best results…build your own! I was 235ish lbs…now I walk around at 199lbs! All i do now is run 3 times a week, for 20mins, eat right, and rest! Hate to say it, but it’s going take a change in your lifestyle and DISCIPLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to follow an online program, Weight Watchers has a reasonably priced one that is good. It has alot of tools and resources and the program teaches “moderation” which really is the answer.

You can also go to local meetings if you think you would benefit from the support of others and the “accountability” that goes with weighing in every week.

    Good luck.

The best way to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight is through changing your eating habits and exercising regularly.

    1. Choose whole grains.

    2. Drink plenty of water.

    3. Choose lean meats and fish.

    4. Know the portion sizes for your calorie target.

    5. Limit fats to an average of 15 grams per meal.

    6. Choose fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible.

    7. Work out for no less that 45 minutes, 4-5 days a week.

    8. Select foods with less than 3 grams of fat per 100 calories.

    9. Choose pretzels, baked chips, fat-free popcorn instead of fries and chips.

    10. Avoid foods with partially hydrogenated oils, trans-fats and high-fructose corn syrup.

    11. Choose cereal, bread, crackers or chips that contain 2 or more grams of fiber per 100 calories.

    12. Choose fat-free or low-fat variety of foods especially when it comes to dairy products (milk, cheese, and yogurt).

symptom of a larger problem rather than the root problem in itself. Most diets just target the superficial issues; the weight loss and energy gain, without paying any real attention to what the cause might be. With a massive amount of problems causing people to be overweight or obese, it’s unlikely that simply treating the symptoms will ever do much good.

The problem is, you’re looking for a special fad diet to help you lose weight. What you need to do is realize that weight loss is achieved through a lifestyle change. Remember, the goal is to lose fat and keep it off forever.

The first step you should take is to take a few weeks and start making the transition from bad foods to healthy foods. Eat as much as you want whil making the change. Don’t worry about weight loss just yet. Start getting yourself used to eating good foods. Poultry, Lean Beef, Egg Whites, Skim Milk, Veggies, Fruits, Oatmeal, Brown Rice, Sweet Potato, and etc. These are examples of some good healthy and wholesome foods.

When you start getting used to eating properly, you can start focusing on weight loss. At this point, you want to start reducing the amount of calories you take in per day. Multiply your weight by 10 and eat that many calories per day. This is a good estimate of what your body will need to maintain it’s current weight if you were to just lay in bed all day. So, if you eat that many calories and go about your daily life, you will start promoting fast weight loss. As you start achieving weight loss, adjust your calorie consumption accordingly with respect to your weight.

Try to exercise a few days per week to burn some extra calories off keep your metabolism working at a fast rate. The goal is to be consistent everyday. Most people don’t achieve their weight loss goals because they only follow these weight loss tips for a few days or week and just quit. You need to be consistent everyday. Make it habit and part of your life.

Exercise. Exercise can boost your results ten-fold, especially if it includes weight training. Not only will weight training help you build lean muscle, which helps burn fat, but it can also help strengthen bones. Be sure to consult a health-care professional before starting any exercise program.

Extra protein. A shake may be sufficient to provide an extra boost for supporting weight loss.

Snack right. We all snack. Just avoid snacking on high-calorie, nutrient-deficient foods. In other words, keep the cake, potato chips and ice cream out of the house. Make “better bad” eating choices. If you’re out at a fast food restaurant and a greasy burger is calling your name, just choose a single-patty with lettuce and tomato and hold the cheese and mayo.

Dietary fiber. Be sure you are receiving sufficient amounts of dietary fiber daily. Fiber helps keep you feeling satisfied longer while also keeping bowel movements regular. I recommend gradually increasing fiber to 25-30 grams daily, in line with current National Fiber Council recommendations.

Weight loss success is often about making better choices.

Avoid sugary drinks. These can add “no nutrition” calories quickly. It’s best to drink plenty of purified water and/or nutrient-dense sugar drink alternatives.

Say no to “bad” fats. The “bad” includes saturated and trans fats. “Good” fats include olive oil rich in oleic acid and fish oil rich in omega-3 fatty acids. To take ultimate advantage of omega-3 fatty acids, it’s best to take a high-potency, high-quality fish oil supplement daily. New research also shows that dietary omega-3 fatty acids may be linked to lower bodyweight.

Mix it up. We all have individual differences. Something that may work for one person may not work for the next. Be sure to try a few different things and see what works best for you.

Whatever you do, it’s important that you don’t become discouraged. Shoot all scales. Pay attention to your body. As you continue to enjoy a reduced-calorie diet, providing your body with quality nutrition, and building muscle through exercise, then the weight will begin to come off safely.
