Yup – Weight Watchers is a good program, because you tend to stick with that.
The diet will take off fat and the weight routine will build muscle, so you may not lose as much weight as you’d expect, but it’ll be more muscle and less fat.

    NO!
You can’t diet at all when trying to put on muscle mass, in order to put on muscle, you have to eat more calories then you burn.
You can try running and doing cardio along with eating more calories.
This will cause you to put on muscle weight and lose fat weight but you can’t eat less to lose the weight.

Yes!! But when you lift weights you gotta do it every other day so you muscles can rest. For example: you can do a full body workout mon, wed, and fri. (3x a week is ideal) chest, arm, back, legs. Or you can work different muscles groups everyday. Just as long as you give the muscles you workout today a rest so they may GROW. :D For example: let’s say today is monday you can work on your upper body, tues you can do cardio while wed you work on your lower body. You need to do cardio to burn the fat. It is soooooo important for you to change your routine so your muscles are constantly challenged. Trust me, it took me this whole summer to break my plateau and lose weight. My body is much more tone and muscles are visible when I lost the fat. Good luck on your diet & exercise plan. Just dont give up and you will eventually succeed!

PS. Dont get discouraged if you gain weight… especially if you just added the weight training. Remember muscles weight more than fat. You will most likely gain the muscles quicker than losing the fat.

Oh the person who said “in order to put on muscle, you have to eat more calories then you burn.”

no thats not right its eating more protein .. try making a protein shake since you’re on the weight watchers diet. :)
