Protein intake to burn fat and gain muscle?

I am interested in burning off body fat and gaining muscle, nevertheless, how do I calculate the proper amount of protein to take in in order to properly burn fat and obtain muscle? I do not want to take in too significantly and end up gaining much more body fat simply because my body cannot assimilate the amount of protein I take in daily.

Calculate your Basic Metabolic rate (BMR). then make sure you don’t eat to many calories relative to your BMR per day. You can try and eat about .5 to 1 gram of protein per day per pound of body weight and this will help maintain your muscle as you drop fat.
