Looking to lose belly fat? Then you have joined an ever-growing club whose members have become more concerned about their health and looks. It is not just a matter of looking sexier, but also a matter of health. Men and women with significant amounts of belly fat face higher risks of stroke, heart disease, and physical injury in general.
Sadly, there is no easy way to lose the spare tire, the love handles, or whatever else you call it. If you want to lose belly fat, you have to work for it. Still, just because it is hard does not mean you cannot make it easier on yourself. Here are a few tips and reminders to help you get slim.
Stay motivated, stay crunching.
You have to find a way to keep yourself motivated and interested in getting trim and fit. The path to lose belly fat is long and arduous, and progress may not be evident, sapping your will. Take regular measurements, have a friend tag along, reward yourself occasionally, listen to music as you exercise, et cetera. If anything else, keep your eye on the prize – a healthier, more attractive body.
Watch what you eat, plain and simple.
Just because you are doing regular exercise does not mean you can eat whatever you like. Keep the general rules of good diets in mind – no overeating, eat slowly, avoid fats and sugars, and so on. When trying to drop that spare tire, it helps to eat less fat and carbs, and add more fiber and protein. These will turn your body to digesting fat reserves and also keeps you clean and regular. When you lose belly fat and are looking to reward yourself, remember to moderate yourself.
Sleep well, eat less.
The human body has a tendency to compensate for lack of sleep by increasing hunger drives. It is rather logical, but also quite detrimental to long-term health. Eating food generally adds more calories than what can actually be consumed. Just get regular good nights’ sleeps, and you will find your hunger drive dropping. In any case, sleep s important to maintaining a healthy body and mind. Oversleeping is no good though, so make sure to discipline yourself.
Green tea to the rescue!
Drink green tea to assist fat burning not only around the belly but all over the body. It will help you lose belly fat, and it is a tasty and soothing drink to boot. It has some caffeine though, so limit yourself to about two cups a day. In connection, drink less coffee, especially if you add milk or sugar to make it more palatable. Less calories, less caffeine.
Eat more garlic, keep your breath fresheners at hand.
Garlic is an amazing spice, not only for its flavor but also for its health properties. It is a good antioxidant, promotes good gastrointestinal health, and can help you lose belly fat. Just remember to keep your breath spray or other breath fresheners around – garlic on the breath is not exactly attractive.
