So if you know any great effective diets and if have any helpful ideas please share.

Start counting calories. Decrease you caloric intake and start exercising to burn calories.

I lost 60 pounds doing weight watchers with my wife. Sure I was like the only dude there, which was weird, but it worked.

I lost 30 lbs cutting most fat out of my diet. I didn’t count carbs or calories, just fat. It worked for me. (I still ate some, but in moderation, or reduced versions)

Dont pay attention to manchild, he’s an idiot.

50 pounds is alot! Do you really need to lose THAT much! I would start SLOW. And be patient. It took me 3 months to lose 30 pounds, the RIGHT way.

Start by JUST drinking water, only water, no alcohol, pop, coffee, etc. You’ll lose 10 pounds just by doing that. Then start with your diet. You know what you should and should not be eating. I dont have to tell you. You dont have to eliminate EVERYTHING to lose weight. Eat often and in small meals. Then work on your exercise routine. Join a local health club. Try to get there 5 times a week. Start lifting weights, it will boost your metabolism and you’ll start to see results. Work on every muscle in your body.

    Good luck!

First of all eat a balanced diet. Lots of fruits and Vegetables. It is also good to eat three to five small meals a day. If you eat fewer than three your body will actually start storing fat in order to feed you while you are not eating. Oh and with the fruits and vegetables eat a variety of colors. That will give you all of the nutrients your body needs.

Second, is physical exercise. Not necessarily going to the gym or doing a hundred jumping jacks. The best thing to do is find something you enjoy doing, like hiking, or racket ball, and just go do those physical things a couple of times a week.

You probably won’t lose wait as quickly as say with a low carb diet, but the end result will be healthier and if you simply make these few changes a habit, the wait should not come back (a problem with any other diet I know of).

I don’t know why people keep asking this question, when the answer is so simple – Eat healthy and exercise.

Don’t overdo it, just schedule a daily, balanced exercise routine, excercising at least 30 min – 1 hour or more each day. Don’t overdo it, though. For example, you don’t want to become a “fitness fanatic” and exercise at least 4 or 5 hours a day. It is very unhealthy because of the fact that you’ll have to eat lots of carbs, fats, and calories in order to “sustain” a healthy range, without having a low carb, calorie, .etc count. There is such thing as having to few, and losing to many essential calories, .etc for over-excessive exercising and under-eating, which eventually leads to bulimia and/or anorexia.

The next step is to eat healthy, of course. You don’t necessarily have to banish all fatty, unhealthy treats from your daily diet. Just limit yourself to about 3 treats a week, but think small portions. Better yet, think of healthy treats that you can eat, like yogurt, fruit, low-fat Splenda-sweetened ice cream, .etc… Keep a food pyramid on your refridgearator so that you can give it the ole’ once over before raiding the fridge, so that you’ll think twice before grabbing that last ice cream bar, or last piece of cherry pie. Never ever graze… Always eat three main meals a day, with about 3, healthy, snacks in-between.

A good way to diet is to post a note on your fridge saying something like, “Remember, 20 pounds…”, so that you’ll think twice of eating something unhealthy… It sounds strange, but a little mental jolt helps you gain will power.

    Good Luck!

you are gonna make a little sacrifice on my suggestion. Dring 2 glasses of water before eating. But when you release it, get ready for it.

Eat more stuff that has a large amount or fiber(beans. soak and cook from dry so without all the other stuff, try eating them with extra water, garlic, salt, and onion powder)), stay away from the soda, drink tons of water, eat less fatty meats, stay away from canned food (get frozen veggies like peas instead of canned and don’t add butter or salt)… also exercise… good luck!

Buy Body for Life and follow the program; 12 weeks will get you to where you want to be. I’ve used it, and seen it used, and everyone person I know that has stuck with it has seen results. It’s not hard; it sounds like you’re already spending the time you need. You just need to better focus your effort to achieve the results you desire. A guy I worked out with lost 56 pounds in 12 weeks doing this; I lost 12 pounds (I wasn’t trying to lose a lot of weight), but I gained a LOT of definition. You can get the Body for Life book at any bookstore or online; Google or Yahoo search it and you may find it also.

My goal also is 50 pounds and so far I have lost 30 pounds in just over 40 days. I have not skipped meals or had to buy or eat special foods. I generally eat fairly healthy, grilled/broiled vs fried, my veggies, fruit, a salad on occasion, but I do still eat fast food with my kids but it has not kept me from loosing the weight. The plan I am on is not a diet plan but it is a natural and healthy weight loss plan that you add to your daily life and it only takes about 15 minutes of your day. I am 45 and I have searched for and tried many things but this by far has been the best for me. Best of luck to you in reaching your goal. I know you can cause I can and as I said, I’m 45

The hunger diet. lol! (kiddin) but if you’re serious about loosing weight… you gotta think BIG! Think of a ‘lifestyle adjustmet’ not just a diet (you’ll only feel deprived and tempted to cheat)
So, Here are some weight loss tips:
    #1
Detoxify. Buy a detox kit from a natural health food store
    #2
Drink lots of water (you’ll burn 1700 extra calories… or more) I’m talking 3 liters a day
    #3
Cut the fats and suger. No processed food. Limit fried foods. No breads pasta or rice. Should be restricted to only special occassions or once bi weekly
    #4
Eat lots of fruits (especially grape fruit) and vegetables like 10 servings. Peas are some very good veggies. They are loaded with protein and vitamins.
    #5
Take a multivitamin. Once a day. you have to. they supplment what your diet is missing and you have less cravings.
    #6
Exercise. Join a gym if you have to… or run outdoors.

Do all of this and and surely! you’ll loose the fat. all of those 50lbs and more. I lost 10 in 2 weeks and I look really HOT! and so will you :) … remember always see the bigger picture
    good luck.

    NO S’s diet
NO sugar – to much sugar makes you fat and gain weight (obviously)
NO starch’s- these are the first of all the fats to get stored in your body and the hardest to burn off
NO salt- salt makes you retain water because it makes your body dehydrated
also dont eat within 3 hours before you go to bed and try excercising at a different time of the day, try excersizing in the afternoon after dinner and keep track of the amount of calories you eat that away you know how much you are intaking and where you can cut back and such
